You can see one of the truly most breathtaking waterfalls in the world and stand in complete awe of nature's power. The Niagara Falls waterfalls are the main attraction, but this lovely Canadian city has more to offer you also. This area is known as “the most famous address in the world” and many weddings (or honeymoons only) have taken place here. There definitely is a lot to see that is amazing and you can have many great times in Niagara Falls. The mesmerizing sound of the waterfalls can be heard all around and you can stand right next to them and feel the true power they possess. You will never believe that people went over them and survived! Come see what you are missing.
History of Niagara Falls
There have been occupants in this region since the seventeenth century. The first ones here were the Iroquois followed by the Europeans who were drawn by the falls. A French priest is said to be the first to the area in the 1670s.
The nineteenth century began the tourism trade, which was an important part of the local economy. In 1970 the city, along with other nearby townships, created a Niagara regional government.
Climate and Geography of Niagara Falls

The weather in Niagara Falls is moderate to extreme in summer and winter. The temperature has many variations associated with the bodies of water in the area and surrounding the city.
Niagara Falls is located about 130 km from Toronto. The city was constructed around the Niagara Falls waterfalls and the Niagara Gorge. It is situated on the Niagara River that is connected to Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
Things to See and Do in Niagara Falls
The Niagara Falls area has been one of the world's most visited destinations for many years. You must see the falls, but they have other attractions also as follows:
* Niagara Falls Waterfalls– if you have never been to the falls you are in for a very unbelievable experience. To see the awesome power of the falls is something you will never forget. You can experience them from many different points and should be sure to take as many pictures as you can. You can enjoy these at the Niagara Falls waterfalls:
o Maid of the Mist – this is a boat ride that takes you to the bottom of the falls. You can look up at these massive falls from below. You will get wet, but they provide raingear.
o Journey Behind the Falls – you will be able to see the water from the “back” as you literally go behind the falls.
o Skylon Tower Observation Deck – this will give you some of the best views of the falls and surrounding area. On a clear day you can see for many miles.
o Weekly Fireworks over Niagara Falls – do NOT miss this. You have never experienced fireworks until you see the Niagara Falls waterfalls in the background.
o Nightly Illumination of Niagara Falls – this is a beautiful site that you do not want to miss.
o Niagara Helicopters – this gives you a fantastic view of the falls from above. You can also see the many rivers and lakes in the surrounding area.

o Niagara Skywheel – this is another great view of the falls and beyond.
